A 14-BORE DOUBLE-BARRELLED PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN SIGNED FISHENDEN, TONBRIDGE,
circa 1835, with 29 1/2in. slightly shortened rebrowned twist barrels signed 'FISHENDEN TONBRIDGE' on the rib (signature refreshed, fore-sight missing), scroll engraved patent breeches each with pierced platinum plug and inlaid with two platinum lines on the rib between, border and foliate engraved tang and locks, the latter each signed 'FISHENDEN' (hammers replaced), figured walnut half-stock with chequered grip (repaired above and beneath the left lock, small chip behind right lock, some bruising), border and scroll engraved iron mounts (some wear and surface corrosion), silver escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, and later brass-tipped ramrod, London proof marks.
