late 18th / early 19th century, with 33 1/4in. single-edged watered steel blade, broad back-edge with gold-inlaid inscription at the ricasso, faceted steel hilt with bone grip-scales (blade-tip with nicks, some discolouration), in leather-covered wooden scabbard (some wear and damage).
