early 19th century, with 32 1/4in. fullered single-edged spear-point blade etched with the Royal Arms, 'GR' cypher and trophies of arms each retaining traces of original gilding and signed on the back-edge 'J. RUNKEL SOLINGEN', brass hilt retaining some original gilding comprising double shell guard, straight quillons, knuckle-guard and urn-shaped finial, silver wire bound grip.
