A GERMAN 16-BORE (PINFIRE) DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN,
29 1/4in. etched twist sighted barrels (shortened) signed 'A. UMLAUF IN OBERFORST' in gold on the rib, scroll engraved tang and action heightened with gold and interspersed with vignettes respectively involving a hound retrieving a pheasant, a fox and a stag, the tang also with gold-inlaid initial, shaped back-action locks each decorated en suite and respectively signed 'A. UMLAUF' and 'IN OBERFORST', 13 3/8in. figured stock (butt with insert sections), raised cheek-piece, chequered grip and fore-end, butt-plate engraved with scrollwork, flat-fronted trigger-guard with sprung front bar releasing the barrels and engraved with further scrollwork and a vignette involving a hunter, pierced dark horn pistolgrip, sling eyes.
