A VERY RARE .38 (SPECIAL) 'MARSHAL' SIX-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, serial no. 838564 M for 1955,
4in. barrel, chequered walnut grips with 'COLT' medallion, and retaining much original blued finish throughout, in a factory carton.

Other Notes: Certificate in lieu of proof marks.

Fewer than 2,500 Marshal model revolvers were produced between 1954 and 1956. In essence it is an Official Police model with a rounded butt. Being so similar to the Official Police model it was destined for obsolescence from its introduction making it amongst the rarest post-war Colt revolver models.
