A RARE .357 (MAGNUM) 'COLT .357' SIX-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, serial no. 17806 for 1959,
4in. barrel, adjustable rear-sight, blued wide spur hammer with bright sides, blued trigger, chequered walnut grips with 'COLT' medallion, in virtually as new condition, in a factory carton.
Other Notes: Certificate in lieu of proof marks.
Only approximately 15,000 '.357' model revolvers were produced between 1954 and 1962. They were in effect a deluxe larger calibre version of the Trooper and a precursor to the Python. With the launch of the Python in 1955 the '.357' was quickly overshadowed and was absorbed into the Trooper line in 1962.
