A 20-BORE FLINTLOCK SAW-HANDLED DUELLING PISTOL,
circa 1800, with 10in. slightly swamped octagonal sighted barrel signed 'ROYAL EXCHANGE LONDON' towards the breech, foliate and border engraved tang incorporating the rear-sight, flat bevelled border engraved bolted lock signed 'BENNETT' and with stepped tail, semi-rainproof pan and roller (top-jaw and screw replaced), figured walnut full stock with chequered butt (cracked on fore-end and beneath lock, tail of saw-handle chipped, numerous bruises), engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard with pineapple finial, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, and silver band at the muzzle (some pitting and surface corrosion throughout), Tower private proof marks.
