41 1/2in. tapering twist sighted barrel signed 'MARRISON. 6 ORFORD ST. NORWICH. NO. 1370' (initial indistinct) and marked with registration number 'P1307' on the right side towards the breech, border and scroll engraved patent breech inlaid with two platinum lines, border and scroll engraved tang, border engraved back-action lock (plate worn), walnut half-stock (large chip in front of lock) with chequered grip (butt with small extension and later brass butt-plate), white metal escutcheon, barrel-bolt escutcheons, fore-end cap and ramrod-pipes, later brass-mounted ramrod with worm (surface corrosion and some wear throughout), Birmingham proof marks.
