with 27in. sighted damascus barrels (shortened and dented) signed 'NIXON, GUNMAKER, NEWARK' on the rib, breeches with platinum plug and engraved on the rib between, the tang, locks and faceted hammers with bold acanthus scrollwork, the locks signed 'NIXON, NEWARK' (some surface oxidisation), figured walnut half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end (historic repair to fore-end), finial of pineapple form, iron butt-plate with acanthus engraving to spur (engraving worn), replacement barrel-bolt escutcheon, some discolouration throughout, Birmingham proof marks
