5 3/4in. octagonal sighted barrel with deep rib, the right side of frame bears the initials 'MK' within a triangle and the serial number below, the left side stamped 'WEBLEYS PATENTS', the top-strap engraved 'T. CLOUGH. BATH.', barrel latch on right side of frame with patent engraving, birdshead chequered walnut grips, Webley No. 44 located below cylinder axis hole

Other Notes: Michael Kaufmann was a firearms designer and from the late 1870s to the early 1880s, he was associated with P. Webley & Son. Kaufmann had patented an improved lock mechanism arrangement plus a method of securing the barrel to the breech. Further improvements to Kaufmann's design were patented by Henry Webley and John Carter including a new type stirrup fastener to replace the barrel latch. During 1885 the 'MK' triangle logo was discarded
