A CASED 54-BORE BEAUMONT-ADAMS PATENT FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION PERCUSSION REVOLVER RETAILED BY R. BURNAND, NEWCASTLE ON TYNE, serial no. B17891,
mid-19th century, with 5 3/4in. blued octagonal sighted barrel marked 'L.A.C.', border engraved blued top-strap signed 'R. BURNAND. NEWCASTLE ON TYNE', blued cylinder with patent use number and chambers numbered from '1' to '5' on the front face, blued border engraved frame with safety-stop and engraved 'ADAMS' PATENT NO. 33638.R', chequered walnut butt, border engraved butt-cap and trigger-guard, the latter numbered '6198' on the inside, rammer, and some original blued finish, London proof marks, in fitted mahogany case relined in dark green baize with accessories including brass bullet-mould, the lid with reproduction trade label of Rich. Burnand, the exterior with circular brass escutcheon.
