the seminal work of Greener that ultimately ran to nine editions, published 1881 by Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co., chalked end-papers with original blind-stamped boards with gilt and black motifs and lettering, also to the spine, bearing the following dedication inside 'John MacGregor from Sir William Eliott Xmas 1881', the whole holding firm and in good condition but for minor rubbing and occasional foxing.
