Product Details

JOSEPH HARKOM
A BRASS-MOUNTED OAK GUN CASE FOR A PERCUSSION SPORTING RIFLE,
fitted for a 30in. barrel (would adapt to 31in.) with full Moroccan leather interior with blocked compartments for powder flask and loading tools, the inside of the lid bearing a Joseph Harkom, Princes Street label, flush brass end-handles, leather mid-handle and plain shield escutcheon, (some light damage to blocking and exterior crack to base).

Other Notes: Joseph Harkom traded from 32 Princes Street from 1856 to 1891. However, this case can be dated as pre-1870 as that year the name of the business was changed to J. Harkom and Son.
