mid 20th century, with 6in spear-point blade, marked at the forte 'IXL', the blade etched with 'SELF DEFENDER' amongst a background of clouds, top half of blade stamped 'G WOSTENHOLM AND SON WASHINGTON WORKS SHEFFIELD', nickel-silver 'S' form cross guard and hilt, fitted with horn scales (no scabbard)
