28in. nitro reproved barrels (in 2010), rib gold-inlaid '1' and engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS 178 NEW BOND ST. LONDON. GUN MAKER BY APPOINTMENT TO HIS MAJESTY GEORGE V REX ET IMP.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, scroll-back treble-grip action incorporating J. Deeley and L.B. Taylor patent hand-detachable locks, patent no. 17731 of 28th July 1897 with improved 'lighter pull-off' modification, patent no. 10567 of 7th May 1907, use number 2295, Westley Richards patent toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, hinged floorplate, acanthus scroll engraving, the triggerguard with a running hare, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14in. well-figured stock with horn buttplate and steel heel and toe plates, the stock finely inset with a large gold coronet, weight 6lb. 6oz.
The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed on 20th May 1912 with 28in. barrels
