A 'THE BALDOCK' PATENT KNIFE SPEAR,

Other Notes: The original "Baldock" Patent knife spear was the fore-runner to todays survival knife. Contemporary adverts described it as follows:
"Designed and patented by Col. Baldock, Merwara Battalion, Late honorary secretary of the Mhow Tent Club. Every sportsman should possess one of these valuable weapons. Not only do they form a useful hunting knife, but the patent socket holder enables them to be fitted to any shaft in a moment, and in case of a broken shaft, the spear can be adjusted on the field without delay and is not rendered useless; a very useful saw has been added on the back of the knife"
