later second model for 1879, with 20in. round, sighted barrel marked 'WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS, NEW HAVEN, CT' and patent dates to 1860, early non-adjustable twin-leaf folding carbine rearsight, smooth dust-cover with screw on rail, tang with no provision for peep-sight, saddle-ring on l/h side of receiver, no calibre designation on lifter block, walnut stock and forend, steel carbine heel-plate with sliding trapdoor, forend with one band and full-length magazine, the whole lightly worn and patinated all over; together with a factory letter.
