A FINE GENTLEMAN'S EDWARDIAN BRASS-MOUNTED CROCODILE LEATHER DRESSING CASE WITH SILVER ACCOUTREMENTS AND PROTECTIVE CANVAS OUTER,
circa 1907 and approx. 21 x 16 x 9in. of uniformly grained crocodile leather with twin double-lever brass locks (keys extant), the exterior of the lid with gold inlaid 'W.', emerald silk-lined and leather-trimmed interior with fitted compartments for a full range of gentleman's travelling accessories in hallmarked silver, glass and leather to include; two hair brushes, dressing mirror, horn-tined comb, shoe horn, clothes brush, sewing kit, hard leather case for matches, travelling ink well, wallets for notes and collar-stiffeners, various silver-topped bottles for hair oil, cologne and shaving soap, manicure set in leather wallet, hip flask with silver bayonet-type lid and two lengths of button hooks, all matching and embossed with the family crest of a recumbant hound atop braided ground, hallmarks indistinct but appear to be for Newcastle, the whole protected by a leather trimmed canvas outer impressed with the gold-inlaid monogram 'M.A.W.', one clothes brush missing.
