A RARE PAIR OF 12-BORE ROYAL FACILE PRINCEPS NON-EJECTORS, serial no. 31860 / 1,
29 3/4in. nitro reproved damascus barrels (slightly shortened), the ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2' and inscribed 'W.W. GREENER. 68 HAYMARKET. LONDON. WINNER AT THE LONDON GUN TRIALS 1875 1877 1878 1879' and 'PATENT TREBLE WEDGE FAST', the ribs and barrels scroll engraved at the breech ends, the barrels with a band of scroll engraving at the muzzle (bore measurements marginal), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and full choke (both), scroll-backed 'double lump' actions with carved serpentine fences, toplevers each gold-inlaid with a crown, manual side safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork interspersed with vignettes of game birds and hounds, the triggerguards with a hound, brushed bright finish, 13 7/8in. figured stocks with crescentic buttplate, horn-inlaid drop-points, weight 6lb. 6oz. (both), in their brass-cornered leather double guncase.
