A 25-BORE SILVER AND IVORY MOUNTED MOROCCAN SNAPHANCE MUSKET,
circa 1800, with 46in slender two-stage sighted barrel, swollen at the muzzle, plain 'Dutch-style' lock with sliding pan-cover, the wooden stock profusely covered in silver fret-work scrolls, coloured ivory panels, wire-work and other decoration towards the butt-end, the fore-stock with geometrically engraved steel bands and re-inforcement, the barrel with silver, florally engraved bands equally spaced to the muzzle (one missing), brass trigger-guard with silver inlay, original steel ram-rod (minor losses and wear throughout).
