A RARE EARLY 19TH CENTURY SOUTH-SEA ISLAND SWORD-CLUB specifically from the Malaita island in the Solomons, 29in overall constructed of lignum vitae, the flattened oval section 'blade' flaring to 5in width and small 'tongue' at the tip (slight losses to points, one repair and hairline age cracks), phallic hilt and dyed straw binding (further minor losses).
