A FINE PAIR OF .25 RIFLED PERCUSSION SILVER MOUNTED BOXLOCK POCKET PISTOLS OF SMALLER THAN USUAL SIZE
circa 1840, with 1 1/4in blued micro-rifled turn-off barrels, foliate and border engraved side panels signed 'CLARKE', the opposite 'LONDON', dolphin engraved central hammers, sliding safes on the tangs, finely chequered walnut pistol-grips with diamond-shaped silver escutcheons to the backs, silver oval escutcheons and banding to the bases, concealed triggers, Birmingham proofs, each pistol measuring under 4in in length (actions brushed bright, much original colour on the remainder)
