Provenance: The vendor has kindly supplied the following information:
"This seal book from 1898 - 1944 records important milestones in the history of Lang & Hussey Ltd., Joseph Lang & Son Ltd. and Stephen Grant & Joseph Lang Ltd. when the company's seal was affixed to legal documents starting with the purchase of the company by Thomas William and Henry Webley, the sons of Philip Webley. Reference is made to Lang's Metropolitan School of Shooting at Neasden and a loan to Richard Watson of the West London Shooting School in 1906. Other transactions noted are purchases of gunmaking businesses; the renting of various workshop premises; employment agreements and the appointment of sole agents."
