A FINE 4-BORE PERCUSSION FOWLING PIECE
second quarter of the 19th century, with 38in browned barrel, silver poincon marked 'FORREST PATENT' at breech together with a platinum line and plug, scroll and border engraved flat bar action lock (traces of colour), dolphin head and scroll engraved hammer, walnut half-stock with silver escutcheon, fine chequered wrist and leather padded cheek-piece, engraved long-spurred heel-plate, scroll-shaped trigger-guard, border and scroll engraved, fancy finial, white-metal nose cap and escutcheons for the cross bolt, original ebony ram-rod.
