Other Notes: Karl Hauptmann made their first side-by-side-by-side triple-barrelled rifle in 1996 and have patented the design with just 50 examples in existence.
The action operates with two sidelocks for the left and right barrels and a triggerplate mounted boxlock for the centre barrel.
The front set trigger fires the centre barrel, the rear being a non selective single trigger firing the left and right barrels.
The makers inform us that the centre barrel can be shot several times without the usual cooling down period with no adverse effect to the rifles accuracy. When the centre barrel has been shot the rifle does not require the usual 6-8 second delay before the second shot from the right barrel is made, its pattern will always be together with the shot from the centre barrel. The third shot from the left barrel has, like on any classic double rifle, to be fired after 6-8 seconds to maintain a perfect group.
