formerly the property of, and compiled by H. C. Nelson, Esq. of Oxfordshire and clearly illustrating his sporting interests, the images range in date from the mid 1890s through to the mid 1930s and show Nelson as an accomplished horseman (as a jockey and huntsman), a keen rod and a capable shot with both a rifle and a shotgun, the photographs were taken in various countries including Great Britain, North America, Sudan, New Zealand and Algeria, he is shown in the company of known names such as Neville Chamberlain (before he became Prime Minister) and Frederick Courteney Selous, the acclaimed P.H.
