circa WW1, with narrow, single fullered, etched 31 1/2in blade (worn) signed 'GIEVE, MATTHEWS AND SEAGROVE LTD' to the left hand side with an inlaid 'proof' mark to the reverse, brass guard with fouled anchor design, folding inner guard, white ray-skin wire bound hilt and lions-head pommel, in its leather scabbard with brass mounts (creased with small losses to stitching, some denting to mounts)
