28in. replacement nitro barrels (circa 1931), rib gold-inlaid '1' and engraved 'THOMAS JOHNSON & SON. SWAFFHAM. NORFOLK.', loose on action, pitted and with dents, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, treble-grip action with patent gas-checks, left-opening toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, protruding tumbler pivots, fine acanthus and stylised scroll engraving, brushed finish overall, 14 5/8in. figured stock, weight 6lb. 6oz.
