with 12 3/4in shortened blade, possibly late 14th century/Koto period and mounted at least three times, (heavily polished and re-modelled) the mekugi-ana obscuring the signature on tang, gilded habaki with 'neko-gake', circular iron tsuba circa 1750 with a raised, gilded monkey swinging from a branch and hole to accept kodzuka, Edo-period mounts including pale green cotton tsuka-ito, bronze menuki of human form, decorated fuchi and kashira, polished sharkskin saya (kurikata missing) and a copper mounted kodzuka
