circa 1710, with straight, slightly shortened 23in blade, false edged for the last 6 1/4in, one side etched with a stag ''proper courant' and 'CLEMENT WALFFERTS Mle SWAARDVEGER IN DE WAARMOES STRAAT' within a panel of fretwork designs, the reverse with a boar and a similar panel with 'IN DE KONIG VAN ENGELLAND FOF AMSTERDAM', arrow device to the blade spine, iron hilt with symmetrical double plain shell-guard, large pas-de-ane and single knuckle-bow, polished sharkskin grip and florally chased pommel cap (discoloured throughout, some nicks to blade edge)
