circa 1850, with expertly re-browned 29in barrels, top rib with 'LONDON' gold inlaid in black-letter script within a field of loose scrolls, bright, gold lined breech plugs with platinum vents and an engraved pheasant to the rib-end, scroll engraved tang, flat fancy border engraved bar action locks signed 'HOLLIS & SHEATH' and engraved with scrolls, shells and partridges in flight, scroll engraved dolphin hammers, highly figured walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist and forend, long-spurred heel plate engraved with scrolls and spirals, trigger guard en-suite with the locks, fancy finial and ramrod throat, replacement rammer TOGETHER WITH an oak and leather compartmented case, re-production label to lid, expertly re-lined, with an original cap tin an a number of finely re-produced accessories
