29in. nitro reproved damascus barrels, the rib inscribed 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63 PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH.' and scroll engraved at the breech-end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in both, Dickson patent round-action incorporating patents 9399 and 10621 of 1887, use number 459, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold cocking indicators, profusely engraved with acanthus scrollwork surrounding a banner inscribed 'JOHN DICKSON & SON PATENT',14 5/8in. figured stock including 1/2in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 6oz., in its makers leather motorcase.
We are kindly informed by the makers that this shotgun was completed as a 'best quality' for a Mr. Candlish in August 1893.
