circa 1855, with 31in barrels, the top rib signed 'WILLIAM MOORE, MAKER TO H.R.H. PRINCE ALBERT, 78 EDGEWARE ROAD LONDON' and the number '2' for the second gun of a pair, scroll engraved top-tang and gold lined breech plugs, platinum vents, border lined slightly curved locks with open scroll engraving, scroll engraved hammers, figured, chequered walnut half-stock, steel butt plate with scroll engraving and the number '2' on the spur, gold escutcheon engraved with a griffin's head to underside of stock, trigger guard with serial number and the number '2' to the tang and a hunting dog to the bow, fancy pineapple finial and forend tip, no provision for ramrod (barrels and furniture darkly patinated)
