WINNER OF THE LONDON GUN TRIALS IN 1858. 1859. 1866 & 1876', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/2 choke, Pape thumblever opening action, patent no. 2488 of 1867, carved percussion fences, rebounding sidelocks with carved hammers, the action lockplates and furniture finely, engraved with best scrolling floral and acanthus motifs with ropework borders, the flats of the action and the triggerguard with the Pape trade mark, 14 1/4in. well-figured stock (cracked through hand) with ornate chequering borders, the fore-end decorated en suite, with Deeley & Edge patent release catch, weight 5lb.
