circa 1860, with 10 1/2in clip point blade (light staining), signed 'W BUTCHER SHEFFIELD' at the ricasso, German silver cross-guard with scrolled ends, amateurly initialed 'A.W', swollen bone grip with spiral groove and German silver 'eagles' head pommel, bearing an old label printed with 'SIR WILLIAM H. BAILEY, SALE HALL, SALE' in a circle on one side and the same name with space for an address on the other
