AN IMPORTANT PATTERN 1796 BRITISH LIGHT CAVALRY OFFICERS SABRE
circa 1800, with unsigned 33in curved, fullered hatchet point blade decorated in blue and gilt for two thirds of its length (faded, some spots of discolouration to blade tip), iron stirrup hilt with langets, one marked 'B' over '17', wire-bound leather grip, TOGETHER WITH its original steel field scabbard, the left hand side marked near the throat '16 LD' over 'B' over '17' (all exposed iron parts patinated with areas of mild pitting)
