A RARE CONTINENTAL FLINTLOCK SWORD-PISTOL
circa 1750, with straight, tapered 31 1/2in single edged blade, false edged for the last 8in, wide single fuller transforming to two narrow fullers for the false edged portion, fully etched with scrolls, foliage and martial trophies, (cleaned, loss of detail to etching), ornate, fancy brass hilt with single knuckle-bow and shell guard chased with rococo scroll-work, the right hand upper part of blade fitted with a brass-bodied boxlock side hammer pistol mechanism decorated en-suite with the hilt, short, banded 1 3/4in turn-off iron barrel of approximately 160-bore (frozen), star muzzle, large external decorated mainspring and rearward curving long trigger, the whole cleaned and polished.
