for 1879, with 7 1/2in octagonal, sighted barrel signed 'ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA', cylinder with traces of naval scene, iron frame marked 'COLT'S PATENT', brass trigger guard and backstrap marked '.36 CAL', walnut grip (right hand side repaired) the whole in a distressed condition with bruising to the metal work and loss of finish.
