circa 1800, with 10in re-browned octagonal barrel, silver inlaid foresight, top-flat engraved 'LONDON', ball engraved band at the breech, notch rearsight on the border, trophy and shell engraved tang, bevelled edge, slightly curved border engraved lock-plate with stepped tail, signed 'BARBER' in script (feint), sliding hammer safety, roller frizzen and semi-waterproof pan, walnut full-stock with bag-shaped pommel, shield escutcheon to wrist engraved with a nine-star depiction of the American flag, iron furniture including a shell and pillar triggerguard with pineapple finial, silver escutcheon for the single side-nail and replacement rammer (discoloured and mild pitting to iron parts)
