circa 1790, with two stage slightly swamped 7in iron barrel, the top flat signed 'WOGDON & BARTON' (feint), the flat bevelled edge stepped tail lock plate similarly signed (also feint), walnut full-stock with bag-shaped butt, small silver circular escutcheon at pommel monogrammed 'J.CC', fore-stock tip replaced, iron furniture and original rammer with iron worm (loose) and horn tip (crack in wood through rear side nail, iron parts heavily discoloured, lock at fault, London proofs)
