circa 1780, converted from flintlock around 1850, with 1 1/2in turn off scratch rifled cannon barrels, border-lined octagonal breeches, action body engraved with loose scrolls and foliage, twin plain hammers, all metal slab-sided swollen butt engraved en-suite with the action, sliding safe trigger guard (at fault) engraved with a sunburst, the whole extensively cleaned with no finish remaining, loss of detail to decoration and small traces of light pitting
