28in. replacement nitro barrels, tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98. NEW BOND STREET, LONDON.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, partially engraved with bold acanthus scrollwork, the underside engraved 'ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR', brushed bright finish overall, 14 3/4in. boldly-figured replacement stock including 5/8in. well matched wooden extension with buttplate, replacement fore-end wood, weight 6lb. 12oz., in its brass-cornered leather case.
The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed as a Royal hammerless ejector gun with 30in. steel barrels with 'special rib' and 'No.2 style engraving' on 28th December 1903. Originally made for 'Holt' is was subsequently sold to a Mr Eugene for a Mr de Rochasson in 1952 with new barrels by them.
