A PAIR OF 54-BORE TURN-OFF BOXLOCK FLINTLOCK POCKET PISTOLS,
circa 1770, with 2 1/4in. multi-stage cannon barrels, rounded, scroll engraved actions with the makers name 'T. STONE' in a banner on the left hand side and 'MANSFIELD' on the right, central hammers with sliding triggerguard safeties, walnut bag-shaped butts inlaid with silver wire scrolls (top half of one butt an old replacement), private proofs and the makers mark 'TS' to underside of breech (both pistols polished with some loss of detail)
