circa 1700, with re-blued two-stage 42in barrel, swamped at the muzzle, inlaid silver 'star' foresight, breech block with gold inlaid Spanish barrel-makers mark, inlaid gold poincon with a bird at rest and six further gold inlaid barrel-makers quality marks, border engraved top tang with a mask and scrolls, flat, curved, step-tailed lock plate engraved with makers name surrounded by scrolls, martial trophy to the tail, relief engraved hammer and frizzen, figured walnut half-stock with relief carved borders surrounding the furniture, fancy inlet gilt, crowned, martial trophy surrounding a Romanesque bust to the wrist, fancy carved and raised cheek-piece to the left hand side of the swollen butt, substantial fancy engraved gilt heel plate, fancy pierced sideplate with scrolls and mythical beasts, fancy gilded trigger guard with finger spur, gilt forend cap, gilt ramrod pipes and throat, button type sling mount to the butt and swivel to the forend and horn-tipped ramrod (some old inlet filling repairs to stock, majority of original gilt remaining)
