probably Russian circa 1795, with blued octagonal 7 3/4in sighted barrels, silver foresights, notched rearsights on the tang, numbered '1' and '2' in gold on the top flat, gold inlaid ball decoration to breech ends, flat, mirror-finished locks with rain-proof pans and roller frizzens, figured walnut full-stocks, carved in relief around the furniture and tangs, fancy relief carving to the wrist, finely chequered swollen butts with silver-banded mother-of-pearl escutcheons, brass engraved butt-caps bordered by fancy silver wire-work, fancy brass, engraved sideplates, fancy brass-pillared triggerguards and finials, double set triggers, fancy brass ramrod throat, ivory forend tips and original ivory tipped ebony rammers, both pistols retaining a good amount of their original finish
