circa 1850, with browned, twist steel octagonal, sighted barrel, the top-flat engraved 'WILLIAM MOORE 78 EDGEWARE ROAD LONDON', fine bead dovetailed foresight and one standing, one folding leaf rear sight, platinum lined and vented breech plug, scroll engraved tang, flat, border engraved lock signed 'WILLIAM MOORE' and engraved with a slain stag surrounded by scrolls, sliding safety, scroll engraved hammer, figured walnut half-stock, finely chequered at the wrist, raised oval cheek-piece on the left hand side, silver rectangular escutcheon to the top of the wrist with the legend 'FOLLOW ME' within a garter, steel heelplate with scroll and bolting stag within a floral border engraved on the bow, provision for sling swivel forwards of the trigger guard and on the front ramrod pipe (swivels missing), and substantial horn-tipped wooden ramrod
