circa 1860, with 30in, sighted, octagonal barrel, the last 1 1/4in rounded for a ball-starter, dovetailed tunnel foresight and sliding notch rearsight, provision on the tang for a peep-sight (missing), plain reversed lock with exaggerated nipple shield, walnut full-stock (distressed), with thumb-rest, flat, raised cheek-piece on the left hand side, heavy crescent heel plate, fancy brass finger-grooved trigger guard, fancy brass side-plate, set trigger, missing ramrod and forend nose-cap (iron parts discoloured throughout)
