circa 1720, with shortened 10in multi-stage barrel, strongly radiused and curved lock engraved with border line and open scrolls together with the name 'W NUTT', walnut full-stock, carved in relief around the furniture, fancy brass escutcheon to wrist, long-spurred heavy brass butt cap with grotesque mask to the flared butt, fancy pierced brass side-plate carved with feathers and mythical beasts, brass trigger guard and ramrod thimbles, original rammer (iron surfaces cleaned and brushed bright, brass-work polished, small losses to wood)
