hallmarked for 1776, with 5 1/4in. triple stage turn-off cannon barrel with banded muzzle, slab-sided boxlock action with center-hammer (top-jaw and screw a working replacement), signed 'BUNNEY' in a banner on the right hand side and 'LONDON' in a banner on the left, both within a field of loose scrolls, figured walnut butt inlaid with silver wire scrolls and a monogrammed silver oval (rubbed), silver butt-cap with grotesque mask to the flared butt, sliding trigger guard safety engraved with a rose (iron surfaces darkly patinated, butt with old repaired splits and two inlet repairs)
