A 15-BORE SPANISH MIQUELET LOCK PERCUSSION BELT PISTOL
circa 1800, converted from flint circa 1849, with 6 3/4in, sighted, octagonal, swamped barrel silver inlayed on three flats with the legend 'EN EITAS POR ANTONIO ALTURDI ANO 1849' in script with further inlaid scrolls, silver lines at breech, small externally sprung, border lined engraved lock with percussion hammer carved in the form of a beast, walnut full-stock (cracked through at wrist), iron pommel cap with lanyard ring joined to full-length backstrap, iron sideplate with belt hook, iron trigger guard and ramrod throat, original steel rammer ( iron surfaces stained, small loss to forend, old pinned working repair beneath lock)
